Tuscany is very popular for destination weddings, so if you have your heart set on a particular venue and date, you should aim to book at least 1½ years in advance. 

Organising a wedding abroad can be very time-consuming, and language barriers can also arise. Planning a wedding should be enjoyable, not filled with stress and obligations, so I believe handing things over to a professional wedding coordinator with extensive experience is worth its weight in gold. Unfortunately, your wedding day does not come around again, so you should be able to enjoy it to the fullest. And why choose me? I have lived in Tuscany for over 20 years and worked as a wedding coordinator for 15 years, so I dare say that I have a wealth of experience and have also built up a large network of incredibly talented collaborators and suppliers. I am also married to an Italian named Matteo, and we have two children, Ella Amelia and Emil Dante, so I have the Italian culture behind me too. What I want to convey through my weddings is the genuine Tuscany experience, with a Scandinavian touch when it comes to flowers, décor and so on.

Rings, outfits, flights, a hire car if needed, and invitations. These are the main elements. You may also wish to create a welcome letter to place in the rooms alongside a welcome gift (for example, a bottle of wine or olive oil), or set up a website for your guests. 

I am there all day, coordinating from early morning until well into the celebrations. I am also usually there the evening before or the day after the wedding, depending on the couple’s schedule and details. 

I have been planning weddings since 2010, so I have been creating weddings in Italy for nearly 15 years. 

I tailor every wedding, so the final figure naturally depends on the couple’s wishes, the level of detail, the number of guests and, of course, the choice of venue. However, I usually say that you should expect to spend at least around €30,000 for 50 people, plus accommodation, if you like the style of my weddings.

My personal favourite months are June and September, when the weather is usually pleasantly warm. May is often beautiful too, as is early October. July and August tend to be very hot, and August is the main holiday month for Italians, so everywhere is busy with locals and prices tend to rise.

I organise all kinds of events, including birthdays and corporate events. 

Many of my couples ask their guests to cover their own accommodation and flights. This is their gift to the couple. I also work with couples with larger budgets who cover both accommodation and flights, or perhaps pay for one of two nights, for example. It all naturally depends on the couple’s budget. 

It is quite common for the Italian couple to sit on their own at a small rectangular table during the wedding meal. Several of my couples have adopted this, although we usually add a Swedish tradition too, by placing two empty chairs in front of them so that guests can come up and speak with the couple. In Italy, there is of course a great focus on food at a wedding, and there are usually many courses. To help everyone manage it all, a sorbetto is often served halfway through the meal to aid digestion, so that guests can then enjoy the entire menu. 

Absolutely, I can. I would even go so far as to say that I take care of everything throughout the wedding days, including wine tastings and more. 

Absolutely, that is no problem at all.

I take care of every kind of detail and book suppliers such as hair and make-up for the bride and guests, photographer/videographer, music, an ice cream cart and so on. I would venture to say that I can arrange most things connected with a wedding in Italy.

If you have the budget for a videographer, I absolutely think you should book one. Beautiful photos are of course wonderful to have after the wedding, but having a film with all the speeches too, or perhaps just a reel or shorter 4/5-minute video that captures the whole wedding weekend and that you can revisit whenever you like, is truly priceless. 

If you choose to have a three- or four-day wedding, the days tend to pass rather quickly. My couples often want to include a few activities, but my answer is almost always the same: once guests arrive at the wonderful, beautiful venue, they are more than happy simply to relax and enjoy the fantastic surroundings/views, the pool, delicious food and drink, and above all, spending time with the couple and fellow guests. However, if you would still like to do something and there is time, a wine tasting at the venue or a visit to a nearby winery is always appreciated. You can also sample Tuscan cheeses and olive oil.

If additional accommodation is needed for any guests who cannot stay at the wedding venue, I will of course help find a nearby place for them. 

High season is usually between May and late September/early October (though this can of course vary slightly from place to place), so if you can imagine getting married before or after these months, you will get a better price. Even during high season, you will get a better price if you can hold your wedding on a weekday. 

I usually turn the question around and say what I don’t do instead. As mentioned, I take care of most things relating to the wedding itself in Italy. The couple naturally takes care of the rings and outfits themselves, as well as flights and hiring cars (I arrange private drivers). 

I usually ask the couple for a few inspiration images, and then, together with the florist, I create a quote based on their ideas. We also include suggestions that we feel are beautiful and well suited to the particular venue where you will be getting married. From there, we work together to create something that suits you and your wishes.
