I have gathered answers to some of the questions I am often asked by couples considering what it would be like to get married in Italy. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything else you are wondering about. And remember – every wedding is unique.
When do we need to book our wedding in Italy?
Tuscany is very popular for destination weddings, so if you have your heart set on a particular venue and date, you should probably book at least 18 months in advance.
Why should you contact a wedding planner, and why choose me?
Organising a wedding abroad can be very time-consuming, and language barriers may also arise. Planning a wedding should be enjoyable, not filled with stress and obligations, so I believe delegating to a professional wedding planner with extensive experience is worth its weight in gold. Sadly, your wedding day does not come around again, so you should be able to enjoy it to the fullest. And why should you choose me? I have lived in Tuscany for over 20 years and worked as a wedding planner for 15 years, so I dare say that I have a wealth of experience and have also built up a large network of incredibly talented collaborators and suppliers. I am also married to an Italian named Matteo, and we have two children, Ella Amelia and Emil Dante, so I have the Italian culture behind me too. What I want to convey through my weddings is that authentic Tuscany, with a Scandinavian touch when it comes to flowers, décor and so on.
What do we need to arrange ourselves before the wedding?
Rings, clothing, flights, any car hire and invitations. These are the main elements, then you may wish to create a welcome letter to place in the rooms alongside a welcome gift (such as a bottle of wine or a bottle of olive oil), or set up a website for your guests.
Are you, as the wedding coordinator, present throughout the entire wedding day?
I am there all day, coordinating from early morning until well into the celebrations. I am also usually there the evening before or the day after the wedding, depending on the couple’s schedule and details.
How many years of experience do you have coordinating weddings?
I have been organising weddings in Italy since 2010, so nearly 15 years now.
